Time Trials Meet

Good morning Seals,

There may be a follow-up email before Saturday from someone else on this, but just to set a few expectations for the meet Saturday and answer some common questions I've been fielding throughout the week.  Follow this link for other questions you may have for a dual meet:

https://imperialoaks.swimtopia.com/your-typical-du...

  • THIS MEET IS AT THE FALLS POOL!
  • We are getting the meet started this weekend at 7:30 sharp (if all the moving parts allow us).
  • Warm-ups will begin at 6:45AM and end promptly at 7:15 beginning with 6&Unders, then about five minutes later 7/8's then 9/10's and so on, ending with 15-18 year-olds.
  • These start times are earlier and different than your typical dual meet.
  • It would be a good idea for the little guys to come watch the big kids warm up and get an idea of what strokes should look like that they'll be swimming throughout the day.
  • We have to be out of The Falls pool by 2PM, so we will be ending the meet at 1PM in order to clean everything up.  If you're a ready bench volunteer, you better keep up with feeding the kids to the blocks!
  • If your child isn't ready to swim a stroke, they aren't the only one.  We are expecting, like always, a lot of sloppy swimming on breastroke and butterfly this weekend.  It always has been and always will be.  It's ok!  It's very important we get a time for BR & FLY for all 7&Ups that plan on doing it at some point this season.
  • I took some people out of the 50 free, 100 free and 100IM that I wasn't sure if they should do it or not.  If you know your swimmer will be competing in either of those two events this season then reply back so I can put them back in.
  • All times will count, there are no DQ's this Saturday (disqualifications)
  • There is also a chance we skip the IM depending on the timeline and how the flow of the meet is going.
  • There will be no relays this weekend.

If you are missing the meet or some events, there will be a follow up email for you after the meet once we find out if we have more events to take care of.  But be prepared to be at the pool Monday to help with your swimmer's times.  There will be a long line, so decide who is making dinner, and who is taking care of times.

No need to email and let me know you're  missing.  Instead of sending an email, your RSVP on the website for the event is better.  If you know you'll miss any event, you still need to RSVP "Not attending" for it please!

After the meet, the times will be updated in the system and you will be able to sign up for your events for the rest of the season like you did for volunteer shifts.

I know my emails are typically long, but they contain good info that even the vets may forget or never knew.

Thank you for reading this in it's entirety and being awesome parents.  Remember the times from this weekend, and look at the times at the end of the season.  You'll be impressed with how much they've ALREADY improved, but give them eight more weeks of training and fun and we will turn them in to fish!

See you at the pool.
