Wake up and RACE!
Things to do for a SWIM MEET:
BEFORE a meet:
1- COMMIT or DECLINE your swimmer!!!! Please do so by the end of practice on Tuesdays so we can start building relays. If you need to leave the meet early, make sure you leave NOTES in the box. There is a section for notes when you go to commit or decline your athlete. You must hit "save".
2- Check the website for your volunteer positions. We print volunteer positions out on Friday night, so they are ready for check-in on Saturday morning. It takes ALL OF US for a swim meet to be successful.
DAY OF the meet:
1- Get there early to check in. There will be 2 tables set up. A GIRLS table and a BOYS table. Every swimmer needs to check in and PULL THEIR SHEET. This lets us know you are there for the day. The check-in ladies will write your swimmers name on their arms as well as the events that they are swimming for the meet. **This is VERY IMPORTANT** If your swimmers sheet is not pulled -- we will assume they are a NO SHOW and we will SCRATCH them from the meet. If you are running late, sick, or have some other situation, please email, call, or text someone, so they can pass the word along.
2- Get ready for warm-ups. If we are the home team we will warm up first. Usually from 7:10-7:40. If we are the visiting team we get the 2nd warm-up session. Usually from 7:40 - 8:10. Meets start at 8:30am.
3- Bring extra towels, a sweat shirt (It's cold in the mornings), caps, goggles, water, snacks, chairs, and money for the SEALS Cafe! :o)
4- IF by chance you have to leave the meet and you are in a freestyle relay... PLEASE let the coaches know ASAP, so we can find replacements.
AFTER a meet:
1- Be sure to clean up your area and pick up all trash, towels, shoes, etc.
