2019 Season

Good morning!

You are getting this email because you are registered for the 2019 season. If you are needing to change the email on your account please reply to this email so we can get that fixed. You also should have received information to create an account/login which you will eventually need for meet selections, volunteer sign-ups, etc... I’d encourage you to do it sooner than later before you forget and lose the login email. Please login to confirm your swimmer’s age and name are correct. We have already had a few people that registered and had the birth years wrong because they have eight kids and forget. I have two of my own and forget…I get it!

Tomorrow is our Rookie Camp at The Falls pool (31220 Birnham Woods Dr, Spring, TX 77386).

4:30 - 5:00 for 6&Unders

5:15 - 5:45 for 7&Up

Rookie Camp is for swimmers new to swim team only. If you are there and seem “over qualified”, we may ask you to take the rest of the week off and show up the following week for regular practices. It’s going to be cold, but it is every season for the first couple of weeks and then it warms up and we wish it was cold again. You’ll be the best parent ever if you have that towel ready when they get out of the water for the next few weeks!

Rookie Camp is very slow paced so we can go over the basic fundamentals and most importantly, ensure everyone’s safety cannot be compromised at our practices moving forward. So if you’re sitting there thinking “this is so slow, we didn’t do much”, then you’re probably ready for the following week at regular practices (not a bad thing).

You’ll only need to wear a swimsuit and bring some goggles for rookie camp and the first couple weeks of practice.

Here is a link to the style of goggles we recommend: GOGGLES

Normal afterschool practices begin Monday, April 15th. Everyone on our team will need fins (non-adjustable, fit for the foot), but we won’t require you to bring them to practice until after our team-suit days where you’d be buying the equipment.

Here is a link to the type of fins we recommend: FINS (there are many types, it's important you get this type)

If weather is ever questionable, in this order please check Facebook (Imperial Oaks Swim Team), email or homepage of website to see if practice has been cancelled. If it’s lightning or thundering we must delay/cancel. If it’s raining but we can see the bottom of the pool, we may still swim. If you show up and we are in the middle of deciding practice, but you checked all of the listed sources above, don’t hate. It’s our goal to not spend time on our phones while watching your kids in the water ;)

Rookie Camp this week.

Crawfish Boil next weekend (pick up tickets at Rookie Camp Tuesday-Thursday).

Regular practices the following week.

That should be enough for today. We are PUMPED for another season with you. We have the best coaches in our league, an organized board of directors and 300 of the coolest, goofiest, hard-working kids on our swim team. See you at the pool!
