SEALS-Registration #choosekind

Good morning Seals,

As we entered the COVID time last year and had to shut down summer swim, we all knew that our kids were missing out. Here we are a year later and we have learned so much. The biggest thing that we have learned is that life requires patience and understanding. I ask you to remember that as we move forward.

We will continue to do our best to get as many swimmers into the pool as possible in a safe and fun way. In order to comply with recommendations and the trust put on us from the community, we have chosen to limit registration and create a wait list. This created a clear view for the board to see what the numbers were and to make sure that we could adequately serve your swimmers in todays environment. This has not been done to create division or to frustrate anyone. Again, I ask for your patience and understanding as we continue to walk through this process and finalize our team numbers.

The dust still has not settled, but numbers are looking good to potentially add additional swimmers. I ask you to stay positive and focused on the reason we would have a swim team. That being said, please keep in mind that social media posts can be useful to both build up people and to tear them down. Many of our children and their families are seeing unkind and hurtful words. Please ask yourself if this is the path you want to model for our community. The Seals are better than this.

I ask you to be patient and to continue following the registration path and waitlist that has been clearly communicated. If you have questions, I am happy to talk.

Eddie
