Practice Locations, Car Warsh volunteers, RSVP for 1st meet

Good afternoon Seals!

  • Reminder, we are back at the POA for all 12&Under practices today and The Falls for all 13&Up on our normal practice schedule.  Every Friday (in a perfect world) we are all at POA pool on the time schedule we've done all week.  See the practice schedule on our website or Facebook just to double check your times for today and tomorrow.

  • Our Senior Scholarship Fundraiser Car Warsh is this Saturday from 9AM-1PM at Lone Star Ace (front of neighborhood by Kroger).  We hope everyone can make it to help out and warsh some cars, even if it's only for an hour.  The money we raise from this goes straight towards our Senior Scholarship fund.  So if you're in high school now, you should DEFINITELY be out there :)

Also for the Car Warsh: we currently have 50% of the volunteer slots filled up and needing 11 more to reach 100%.  This may be a "cooler" weekend to knock out some hours :)

Our kids do a great job of washing cars, but there are a lot of places they can't reach or...forget to see?  Maybe let the kids attack it first and then pull the cars up where the adults can finish it off before rinsing the soap off?

  • RSVP AND select your events for the practice meet (Black vs Green) on May 6th.  HERE is a two minute video showing you exactly what to do to select your events.  For this meet only, you'll select all of them!  Please also RSVP for the meet, especially if you won't be there!  We will grab some times from last year if you cannot make it.  If you are new, we will figure out some times from practice.

    6&Unders (25 free and 25 backstroke)
    7/8's   (25 FR, 25BK, 25BR, 25 FLY)
9/10's (25 FR, 25BK, 25BR, 25 FLY)  If you know your swimmer can/will do 100IM & 50 FR, sign them up for that too)
11/12's (50 of each stroke, 100 IM if applicable)
    13-18's (50 of each stroke, 100 FR, 100 IM)

See you at the pool!

PS.  Thank you for all the support and kind messages/emails/FB Posts on my first Ironman.  It was a long day, but I still managed to finish in 12.5 hours which is less time than I spend commuting for my full-time job, working a 12 hour shift, and commuting home.  A day running around burning calories is better than a day at work if you ask me!  I plan on doing it again and going well under the PR I just set for myself.
