~NEWS to KNOW for 2016~

**Registration**  

April 9th and 16th at the POA pool on Imperial Oaks Blvd from 10AM to 2PM

**Registration Fees will remain the same as last year**

1st swimmer - $220           

2nd swimmer - $140 

3rd swimmer - $130

4th swimmer – FREE  

*15/18 swimmers are ½ price, when multiple swimmers are registering, the 15/18 swimmer falls into the last swimmer listed for the ½ price.*

**Are you a new swimmer?  Come to ROOKIE CAMP – April 11th-14th with 6&Unders 5-5:45 and 7&UP 5:50-6:35 @ POA Pool

All 1st year swimmers are invited & encouraged to attend Rookie Camp. This is to let new kiddos get a feel for swim team and practice.  

**TEAM TRY OUTS for NEW SWIMMERS**

This year we will hold try-outs at the registration after Rookie Camp unless you are otherwise told at Rookie Camp.

6 & Under NEW swimmers will be evaluated on the ability to swim 25 yards of free-style unassisted with no time limit.  This is for your swimmers safety.  Unfortunately swim team is not a “learn to swim” program but a competitive program that builds on the fundamentals of swimming.

Swimmers 7-10 years old must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke in a minute or less.

Swimmers 11 and up must be able to swim 50 yards of freestyle and backstroke unassisted.

**EQUIPMENT needed for PRACTICE**

ALL Swimmers 7 & UP– will need a pair of swim fins.  These can be purchased at the SwimShop of the Southwest at the CISD Natatorium or Academy. They can also be ordered at www.swimoutlet.com. Please please please do not get ones that are "adjustable".  These will not work well.  They need to be the rubber, fitted fins that aren't "zoomers" (short fins) and not extra long fins used for scuba diving.

**TEAM SUITS**

This is not a new team suit year!  We will use the same suit as last year-- however we will still have a designated "Team Suit Day" on April 26th, and a Swim Shop representative will be at swim practice selling our team suit.  If that day doesn't work for you, The Swim Shop will have our suit at the CISD Nat for you to purchase.

**IOST CAR WASH**

Our 4th Annual IOST Car Wash will be held at Ace Hardware on May 7th Volunteers and Swimmers Needed!! Check out the website for more info – www.imperialoaks.swim-team.us

**CRAWFISH BOIL**

Our Annual Crawfish Boil will be on April 23rd – Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the gate.  Each family will receive 4 tickets with their registration. The Boil will be from 4 pm - until the crawfish are gone!
